I am the founder and editor of Icarus Complex Magazine – an annual print magazine and communications platform about climate change.
I began my journalism career as a freelance writer for the main daily newspapers in Luxembourg where I focused on music and the creative fields. I soon joined Luxembourg’s biggest independent publisher Maison Moderne and helped launch nico, their first English language publication with a focus on interviews and fashion. I was the editor until I moved to London.
In 2009 I obtained a Masters degree in Journalism from City University in London.
Splitting my time between London, New York and Luxembourg, I continued my work as a cultural editor. During that time, I also joined the Twin Magazine team as an Associate Publisher.
In 2018, I was commissioned to write a book titled 50 friends for the ten-year anniversary of Design Friends Luxembourg. My many in-depth conversations with a range of designers from Patricia Urquiola to Kiki Van Eijk jump-started hmy deep interest in all things sustainability and climate.
In 2019, realizing there was a gap in climate coverage, I launched Icarus Complex, one of the first independent magazines on the climate crisis with the slogan “an in-depth look at issues surrounding climate change”. The idea was to combine outstanding journalism with compelling visuals and while making the climate crisis accessible to the general public by steering away from scientific jargon.
In three years the magazine, which is distributed internationally, has collected 4 design awards and landed in the hands of key figures in the fight against the climate crisis such as Al Gore, Bill Gates, Bill McKibben, George Monbiot and Kumi Naidoo. In 2021, I convinced other magazines to start a lecture series under the name #restartingthefuture to encourage our readership in their transition efforts to a more just and sustainable world.
